Hello, tennis friends!

As you know, I love playing tennis and live in Novi Sad, Serbia. Since I arrived, I’ve observed the same pattern I witnessed in Moscow. The cost of courts is rising very quickly – doubling in the last 1.5 years. Some courts are being destroyed in favor of more profitable construction of shopping centers, residential buildings, or something similar. If we extrapolate the situation in Moscow to Novi Sad, the future doesn’t look bright. Tennis, like any other sport, requires a lot of land. In cities where the cost of land is constantly increasing, no sport can withstand the financial competition with shopping centers and residential buildings. Without state support, which I, as a Russian, completely do not believe in, tennis will gradually be pushed to the outskirts of the city, and its cost will rise to 1500 dinars per hour for an outdoor court.

That’s precisely why I am gathering here the remnants of those courts that I have managed to visit and which are still operational. So you can choose the most suitable option for yourself in terms of cost and distance from the city center.
